DNR EagleCam Eaglets Take Flight

(Learfield News/Undated) — All three eaglets from the Minnesota DNR’s EagleCam nest have now successfully fledged.

One eaglet left the nest after a storm on June 11th and was later found on the ground near the nest site.

After being evaluated and cleared by The Raptor Center, the young eagle was released and enrolled in a GPS tracking project to monitor its progress in the wild.

The second eaglet took its first flight on June 18, and the final chick fledged on Sunday.

DNR officials say the young eagles may return to the nest area briefly before becoming fully independent.
