DNR Monitoring Area Ice

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says they are monitoring area ice conditions while responding to various complaints. 

Conservation Officer Coby Fontes in Warroad reports people are venturing out onto the first ice of the season and urge caution this time of year. 

Conservation Officer Jeremy Woinarowicz in Thief River Falls says enforcement action for the week included possessing illegal-length northern pike, no ID on an ice shelter, and no ice shelter license as required.

Woinarowicz says he also continued an investigation on a deer-out-of-season case, and checked area muzzleloader hunters.
