DRIVE-BY SHOOTING IN MANKATO, MAN ARRESTED

A man has been arrested after a drive-by shooting incident in Mankato Monday night.  Authorities were called to Good Counsel Drive and Riverfront Drive on reports of a suspicious man and vehicle.  Police say the caller drove away and the suspect eventually caught up with him and the caller said he heard what sounded like a gunshot.  Police say the victim’s vehicle has a bullet hole in it.  The victim wasn’t hurt and was able to describe the suspect’s vehicle.  North Mankato police eventually arrested 43-year-old Joshua Armendariz of Mankato.  Authorities are requesting charges of drive-by shooting, second-degree assault, possession of a stolen firearm, illegal possession of a firearm.  The incident is under investigation.
