Driver Charged After Pursuit/Crash in Renville Co

A Redwood Falls man has been charged after a police chase in Renville County Sunday evening.

The Renville County Attorney says 19-year-old Carter Thomas Wittman is charged with felony fleeing a peace officer and misdemeanor reckless driving.

The Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop was attempted about 3 miles south of Olivia near the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road 17, but Wittman did not stop.

The chase ended when Wittman’s vehicle crashed into a railroad embankment in Olivia, immobilizing the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
