Driver Injured in Stearns Co ATV Crash

A St. Joseph man was injured in an ATV crash in Stearns County Saturday evening north of Eden Valley.

The Sheriff’s Office says at 7:45pm, they received a report of an ATV crash with injuries near the intersection of 188th Street & 223rd Avenue, which is about 5 miles north of Eden Valley. The caller reported a man rolled his ATV and was unconscious.

On arrival, deputies learned that 45-year-old Jon Sanborn was northbound on 223rd Avenue and was traveling too fast as he was approaching a curve and ran off the roadway and was thrown from the ATV.

Sanborn was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Sanborn was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and authorities say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.
