Driver Involved in Fatal Cottonwood County Crash had No License

(Learfield News/Sanborn, MN) — The SUV driver in Friday’s fatal southwestern Minnesota crash had no driver’s license, according to the State Patrol.

Troopers say 67-year-old Martin Hanson of Springfield, had no license from any state.

He and four members of a Minnesota family riding in a transit van were killed in Cottonwood County.

The State Patrol told the Star Tribune that although the 2019 Ford Transit was built with seat belts, none were installed at the time of the crash.

The van held a driver and 12 relatives gathered for a birthday celebration.
