Driver of Stolen Vehicle in Yellow Medicine County Arrested in Carver County

A suspect was arrested last week in Carver County after a deputy spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen out Yellow Medicine County.

The Sheriff’s Office says the deputy saw the vehicle leaving the Kwik Trip in Norwood-Young America and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver pulled over and fled on foot but was quickly caught after a short chase.

Authorities say the suspect showed signs of impairment and narcotics were found, and a blood sample was later collected.

The individual was booked on multiple charges including being in Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, DWI, Driving After Cancellation – Inimical to Public Safety, Flee on Foot, Drug Possession, and several other charges.

The vehicle was taken into possession for safekeeping to be turned over to the owner.
