Eden Lake Township Fire

Fire destroyed a building in Eden Lake Township, north of Eden Valley early Wednesday morning.

At about 3am, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the homeowner at 16218 County Road 9 saying they woke up to loud popping noises outside their house and they saw flames and black smoke coming from a large outbuilding on their property.

The building was located about 115 feet from David and Janine Nieman’s house.

When first responders arrived on scene, the 50×50 foot outbuilding was fully engulfed in flames.

Several agencies worked to extinguish the fire; however, the outbuilding and items inside were believed to be a total loss.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
