Elaine E. Nuessmeier

Elaine E. Nuessmeier, age 94 of Le Sueur passed away on January 21, 2026. Memorial Service
will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur, at 11 AM.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, a
luncheon will be held in the church social hall. Interment will be in Dresselville Cemetery, Le
Sueur, following the luncheon.
Elaine was born on July 7, 1931 in Columbus, NE to Theodore and Antonia (Twiestmeyer)
Rosendahl. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and attended grades
1-8 there at St. John’s Parochial County School.
She attended high school in Columbus, and after graduating in 1949, was employed by an
insurance agency there.
Elaine was united in marriage to Carl Nuessmeier on November 22, 1956, in Columbus,
Nebraska. Together, they made their home in Nebraska and later in Wells, Minnesota. In 1963,
they moved to Le Sueur, Minnesota, where they settled on the Nuessmeier family farm and built
a life rooted in hard work, family, and community. They were blessed with two sons, Timothy
and Thomas. In Le Sueur, Elaine was employed by the insurance industry, retiring in 2000.
She was an active member of Zion United Church of Christ, serving on the altar committee for
many years. Elaine loved her country home, and always had a large garden and flower beds. She
and Carl enjoyed their daily walks together. She loved to cook and bake and spend time with
family, especially with her granddaughter, Claire.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Judy Helmeke) Nuessmeier of St.Peter, MN, and Thomas
Nuessmeier of St. Peter, MN; granddaughter, Claire; brother, Verlin (Joan) Rosendahl; and many
nieces and nephews and their families.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Carl (2014); parents, Ted and Toni; sister, Evelyn
Wurdeman; and brothers, Myron and Roland Rosendahl.
