Ex-Mpls Officer Released from Federal Prison
(Learfield News/Littleton, CO) — One of the four former Minneapolis police officers convicted in the killing of George Floyd is out of prison on supervised release.
A U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokesperson says 41-year-old Thomas Lane was released Tuesday from a low-security federal lockup facility in Littleton, Colorado.
Lane was sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison for violating the civil rights of Floyd.
He remained in custody in Colorado to finish his state sentence for aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Derek Chauvin is serving a 20-year federal sentence concurrent with his 22-year state sentence for second-degree murder and manslaughter.
Ex-officers Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng are also serving prison terms.
