Extreme Heat Continues Across Southern Minnesota

Another day of dangerous heat and humidity is affecting southern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says heat-index readings could approach 100 degrees Monday after temperatures climbed into the upper 90s Sunday.

People spending time outdoors should drink plenty of water, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning and watch for signs of heat-related illness. Residents are also encouraged to check on older adults and others who may be especially vulnerable.

Some relief is expected Monday night as northerly winds bring cooler and less humid air into the state. Tuesday is expected to remain warm, but conditions should be more comfortable. National Weather Service
