Extreme-Weather Grants Available to Specialty Crop Growers

Minnesota specialty-crop growers can apply for grants intended to protect their farms from drought, flooding and severe weather.

The Department of Agriculture is offering grants of up to 10-thousand dollars for projects including irrigation systems, wells, water tanks, hail netting and frost protection.

Recipients must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match. Priority will be given to farmers who have operated for ten years or less.
