FAMILY OF MSU STUDENT KILLED IN MINNEOPA LANDSLIDE PLANNING TO SUE DNR
The family of an MSU student who was killed in a landslide last year in Minneopa State Park plans to sue the Minnesota DNR. The Star Tribune is reporting the parents of 19-year-old Jack Loso say state officials were negligent in warning park visitors about the risks of landslides in the area. Loso visited the park with his sister and cousin last December when a sandstone cliff above him collapsed and buried him. Loso’s parents claim the cliffs had been visibly deteriorating for several months before the incident and warning signs should have been installed. An attorney for the family says he plans to file the lawsuit within the next month.
