Fatal Crash in Renville County

Two people died and four were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Renville County Thursday afternoon in Danube.

The State Patrol says a Ford Taurus and International Straight truck were both eastbound on Highway 212 when they collided at 2nd Street just before 4pm.

The Patrol says the driver of the car, 55-year-old Ricardo Cantu of Danube, died at the scene. An 8-year-old passenger in car also died at the scene. A 7-year-old passenger in the car was taken to HCMC for treatment of life-threatening injuries. A 3-year-old passenger was taken to Olivia Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger, 26-year-old Brandee Lugo of Renville, was taken to Olivia Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Justin Macht of Morgan, was also taken to Olivia Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
