Update: Names Released in Fatal Kandiyohi Co Crash

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office has released the names involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash south of Spicer Thursday night.

At just before 9:30pm, deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of County Road 8 & County Road 26.

Authorities say a pickup operated by a 17-year-old from Kandiyohi was traveling south on County Road 8. An SUV was traveling east on Co Road 26 and failed to stop at the stop sign and the vehicles collided.

The 17-year-old was taken to Willmar Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both the driver and passenger in the SUV, 33-year-old Ashley Olson of Willmar and 33-year-old Joshua Velez of Pennock, died.
