Fatal Renville Co Crash

One person died in a one-vehicle crash in Renville County Sunday afternoon about 5 miles northeast of Hector.

The Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Katie Dupre of Hector died at the scene.

She was a passenger in a pickup driven by 40-year-old Nikolaus Beglau of Hector. He was airlifted to HCMC for treatment of unknown injuries.

Authorities say Beglau’s vehicle was traveling northbound on County Road 22 when the vehicle entered the ditch on the opposite side of the road then launched off a creek embankment, became air-born, and landed on its hood and cab at the bottom of the creek bank on the opposite side of the creek.
