FATAL RENVILLE COUNTY CRASH

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office was called to a one-vehicle crash about five miles northwest of Hector Sunday afternoon at 3:34 pm.  Authorities responded and found a Ford F250 resting on its top at the bottom of a creek bank.  The vehicle was not in the water.  Both occupants were extricated from the vehicle.  The driver was identified as 40-year-old Nikolaus Beglau of Hector.  He was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center with unknown injuries.  A passenger, 36-year-old Katie Depre of Hector, was killed.  A preliminary investigation shows that the truck was traveling northbound on Renville County Road 22, crossed the opposing lane and entered the ditch, launched of a creek embankment and landed on its hood and cab at the bottom of the creek bank.  The investigation is continuing.
