Fatal Renville County Crash

A driver died in a collision involving an SUV and a semi Friday afternoon in Renville County.

The State Patrol says the driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Blaine Minkel of Hector, died at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 50-year-old Zachary Tewes of Rossie, Minnesota, was taken to HCMC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened on Highway 212 between Bird Island and Hector just after 1pm.
