FEMA MAKES $1.9-MILLION AVAILABLE FOR PRE-DISASTER MITIGATION RESILIENCE PROJECT IN MADELIA
FEMA announced that federal funding for hazard mitigation projects is available to Minnesota to address flood risks. Congress authorized the project through the Fiscal Year 2026 Homeland Security and Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act and funding has been made available through FEMA’s pre-disaster mitigation grant program. The identified project in Minnesota is for $1.9-million for the Madelia wastewater lift station accredited levee in Madelia. The funding enables states to take proactive steps to protect communities from future disasters. Forty states and one Tribal Nation are expected to receive more than $189-million in federal funding for 125 projects.
