Fire Destroys Bird Island Residence

A residence was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon in Bird Island.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says at just before 12:30pm, they received a report of a residential fire in the 800 block of Oak Ave in Bird Island.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames. Crews were able to contain the fire, but the residence was deemed a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office, Bird Island Fire Department, and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
