Fire Forces Closure of AJ’s Bar and Grill in Glenwood
AJ’s Bar and Grill in Glenwood is closed following a fire Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, the fire was reported around 10 a.m. on April 29. The Glenwood Fire Department responded, with assistance from the Villard and Starbuck fire departments. Crews were able to contain the blaze before it spread throughout the entire building.
No injuries were reported, and all occupants made it out safely. However, the business sustained significant fire, smoke, and water damage and will remain closed for the time being.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the incident and determined the fire was accidental, originating from a dryer used for towels.
In a statement posted to social media, AJ’s Bar and Grill thanked first responders and the community for their support, saying, “We truly appreciate each and every one of you… Don’t worry—we’ll be back, and better than ever.”
No timeline has been announced for reopening.
