FLOOD WARNINGS FOR THE COTTONWOOD RIVER AT NEW ULM, ABOVE SPRINGFIELD
A flood warning is in effect for the Cottonwood River at New Ulm and above Springfield until late Thursday night. At 8 pm Tuesday, the Cottonwood at New Ulm measured 11.3 feet and is expected to rise to a crest of 11.6 feet this (Wednesday) and then fall below flood stage Thursday morning. Flood stage at New Ulm is 11 feet. The Cottonwood River above Springfield measured 25.4 feet at 8:30 pm Tuesday. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday morning. Flood stage is 22 feet. Some roads in these areas are impacted by the minor flooding. Don’t attempt to drive around any barricades that are up or drive through flooded areas.
