FLOODING CHANGES SOME EVENTS OF SPRINGFIELD RIVERSIDE DAYS

Riverside Days is scheduled to start in Springfield today (Wednesday).  Due to flooding in Springfield, some events have been changed.  The Springfield Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament has been postponed until August 7.  The  rodeo committee has moved the rodeo to the gravel parking lot east of Springfield Market.  The Kids Pedal and Tractor pull is being relocated to outside the Legion.  The Springfield Town Team baseball game against St. James will be played in Sleepy Eye at 5.  Riverside Days is scheduled to go through Sunday in Springfield.  The city of Springfield has declared a flood emergency that will allow the city to seek funding from the state or FEMA for cleanup if expenses exceed the necessary threshold.
