Flooding shuts down stretch of I-90 in southwest Minnesota
Rain that fell over the same areas of southwestern Minnesota into Friday morning has led to water covering both directions of Interstate 90, starting closures of the freeway on Friday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has shut down I-90 between Worthington and Luverne, as well as a stretch of I-90 between Luverne and Adrian. Detours have been posted and could be in place until Sunday, according to MnDOT.
Rock and Nobles counties were placed in flash flood warnings by the National Weather Service on Friday morning, with officials saying 2-5 inches of rain have already fallen and more is on the way.
