FOOD FOR KIDZ PACKAGING EVENT SUNDAY IN SLEEPY EYE

Volunteers are needed to help package food for the 20th annual Sleepy Eye Food for Kidz packaging event Sunday.  Meals of rice, soy, vitamins and vegetables are packaged to send to hungry children around the world including Ukraine, Honduras and this year, some of the food will go to hurricane victims.  Anyone can come and help.  Just show up and they will find a spot for you.  There will be two different shifts – 10:30 to 1 and 12:45 to 3 but you can show up anytime and they will find a spot for you.  You can drop off monetary donations as well.  Last year, over $14,000 was collected and a record 97,920 meals were packaged.  Organizers are hoping to do more this year.   The packaging event will be Sunday at the Sleepy Eye Event Center.
