Former Minneapolis Mayoral Aide Gets 33 Months in Fraud Case

A former aide to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison in the Feeding Our Future fraud case.

Abdi Nur Salah pleaded guilty to wire fraud after receiving more than 1.6-million dollars in funds intended to provide meals for children.

Prosecutors say Salah helped establish a nonprofit used to submit fraudulent meal claims and moved proceeds through shell companies. He is the 31st defendant sentenced in the broader case. His sentence also includes two years of supervised release.
