FORMER RENVILLE COUNTY AUDITOR/TREASURER PLEADS GUILTY TO THEFT

Former Renville County Auditor/Treasurer Lisa Meints pled guilty Wednesday to a theft charge.  Meints was the treasurer for the Olivia Area Outback Team which is the local chapter for the Just for Kix dance group.  She was in charge of an account for donations made to help pay for the childrens’ dance performances at bowl games.  Investigators say that whenever her personal bank account was running low, Meints would transfer money from the Outback Team account into her own account.  The criminal complaint says she is accused of stealing approximately $4690 from May through December last year.  She resigned as auditor treasurer this past February.
