Frederick “Fred” Frank Krentz

Frederick “Fred” Frank Krentz passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at the age of 84.

Fred was born January 27, 1940 to Fred G. and Minnie (Latzke) Krentz at the family homestead in Tyrone Township, LeSueur County, where he would reside the next 73 years until entering assisted living. He attended country school before graduating from LeSueur High School in 1957, then took over the family dairy farm. He married Leona Reinke on July 6, 1963; they later divorced. In Fred’s younger adult years he enjoyed running, bowling, and horseshoe pitching, the latter of which included tournament appearances throughout Minnesota. He was also known for his card playing, rope repairing, metal detecting, woodworking, sharing of trivia and puzzles, and impressive memory of historic dates.

Fred is survived by his three children: Lyle of Belle Plaine, Lynn (Chris) Paul of Medford, WI, and Lisa (Jeremy) Tesch of Henderson; six grandchildren Nathan Krentz, Allison, Evan and Eric Paul, and Logan and Lucas (special friend Elizabeth Leuthner) Tesch; sister Lois King of LeSueur; many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Elmira Otto, Earl Krentz, and Maynard Krentz.

Service to be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson, on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm, followed by funeral at 4:00pm, internment in the columbarium, and supper.
