Game 2’s tonight for Wild and Wolves

(Dallas, TX/Learfield News) — The Minnesota Wild will look for a two-game sweep out of Dallas tonight when they take on the Stars for Game Two of their Stanley Cup Playoff match up. The Wild grabbed Game One with a decisive 6-1 victory on Saturday and Joel Eriksson Ek and Matt Boldy each scored twice to take the 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Rookie goaltender Jesper Wallstedt got his first start in the postseason and won his playoff debut on 27 saves. Head coach John Hynes doesn’t anticipate any changes for Game Two tonight from American Airlines Center. Puck is scheduled to drop at 8:50 P-M. (Denver, CO/Learfield News) — The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to bounce back from a Game One loss in Denver with Game Two tonight in the Rocky Mountains. The host Nuggets overcame a sluggish first quarter and beat Minnesota 116-105 in Saturday’s series opener. The Wolves led by as many as 12 points in the first quarter and held a 33-23 lead heading into the second quarter. Denver started to take control with a 39-29 second quarter and then a 29-17 fourth quarter. Nuggets guard Jamal Murray led all scorers with 30 points, including 16-for-16 from the free throw line. Denver star player Nikola Jokic (YOH-kitch) had a triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards’ 22 points, although he was only 2-for-9 from three-point range. Game Two of the best-of-seven series tips off tonight at 9:30 P-M.
