Gardenhire wins Lifetime Achievement Award
(Minneapolis, MN) — Former Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire has been chosen as the winner of the the 2024 Herb Carneal Lifetime Achievement Award. “Gardy” spent 24 seasons with the Twins as a coach and manager. The award is named after legendary Twins broadcaster Herb Carneal. In addition, amateur baseball coach Michael Beier of Foley will receive the Terry Ryan “Play Ball Minnesota” Award. Beier has coached high school, American Legion, and V-F-W teams during his time in Foley. The award is named after former Twins general manager Terry Ryan. Gardenhire and Beier will be honored at the 20th annual Diamond Awards banquet on January 23rd.
