Garth Don Boehmlehner was born on May 3, 1988 to Steve and Donna Boehmlehner. He grew up on the family farm, usually barefoot and looking for adventure. He was enthralled with drawing tanks and all things army. It was no surprise when he convinced his parents to let him sign up for the Army at age seventeen. After high school graduation he set off for basic training which eventually led him to the 82nd Airborne Division. Garth served two of his six years deployed in the Iraq War. During those six years he married and became a father and leaves behind three boys: Jaden, Maverick and Ashton. They were his heart.

Garth was never destined to be a farm boy. The army opened his eyes to a big world and gave him courage to take on opportunities that came his way in a “jump in feet first” kind of way. Sometimes things worked, sometimes they didn’t, but he was always ready to jump again.

He owned an Airbnb and food truck in Costa Rica, then bought a sailboat in the Dominican Republic with the hopes of sailing it through the Panama Canal, back to Costa Rica.

In between his adventures he worked as a machinist and spent time with his boys.

While in the Dominican Republic preparing for a new job opportunity overseas, he died unexpectedly. He leaves behind friends and loved ones here and abroad. His light hearted laughter, and the twinkle in his eye will remain in our hearts forever.

Garth is survived by his sons: Jaden, Maverick, and Ashton; parents: Steve and Donna (Keifer) Boehmlehner of Rosholt, SD; siblings: Hailey Peterson, her husband Ryan and their children Cody, Ty and Marissa of Rosholt, SD; Micah Boehmlehner, his wife Dawn (Anderson) of Rosholt, SD; and Cally Findlay, her husband Ross and their children Madison, Mack and Briggs of Wheaton, MN; grandma Luann Keifer of Rosholt, SD; and his dog Beans.

Garth was preceded in death by his grandparents: Arnold and Evelyn Boehmlehner and grandfather Kermit Keifer.

Arrangements are with Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton, MN.
