General Mills Names First Woman CEO

General Mills has named Dana McNabb its next chief executive, making her the first woman to lead the Minnesota-based company.

McNabb will take over January 1. She is currently chief operating officer and has spent 27 years with General Mills in roles involving strategy, marketing and international operations.

Current CEO Jeff Harmening will become executive chairman of the board.

The company’s board unanimously approved the leadership change Wednesday.
