Gopher Basketball adds a player

The Minnesota Gophers men’s basketball program has added a local player to round out next season’s roster. Blake Nixon Jr., a guard from Academy of Holy Angels, is joining the program for the 2026–27 season. According to reports, Nixon will take the Gophers’ 15th and final roster spot and is expected to participate in summer workouts in June. It’s another Minnesota connection for head coach Niko Medved as he builds toward his second season leading the program.
