Gopher DB wins award, other local College FB awards
(Minneapolis, MN) — Gopher redshirt freshman defensive back Kerry Brown is being recognized for his strong performance over the weekend. The Gopher safety was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week yesterday. Brown had two interceptions and four tackles in Minnesota’s 27-0 win over Nevada on Saturday. He is the first Hawkeye to win the award since running back Zach Evans won it on October 2nd of last season.
(Undated) — Minnesota State-Moorhead junior receiver Brady Perryman of Cottage Grove is the N-S-I-C Offensive Football Player of the Week, while his senior linebacker teammate Josiah Behm of Appleton, Wisconsin is the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. The Dragons upset nationally-ranked Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday. Saint John’s senior quarterback Aaron Syverson of Minnetonka is the MIAC Football Offensive Player of the Week, while his senior linebacker teammate Hayden Sanders of Brooklyn Park is the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week. St. Olaf senior kicker and punter Collin Swan of Lake Mary, Florida is the MIAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
