Gopher Football Opens Season Tomorrow

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team opens the 2025 season tomorrow night at home against Buffalo. Minnesota star running back Darius Taylor is the team’s leading returning rusher and receiver. Taylor rushed for 984 yards and had 350 receiving yards in 2024. He says he and his teammates have had enough of the preseason workouts and they are ready to go against a new team. Buffalo enters the game with high hopes for its upcoming season. The Bulls were 9-4 a year ago and return several of their leading players. The Golden Gophers were 8-5 a year ago. Minnesota holds an all-time 2-0 record against the visiting Bulls, including a 17-7 win in P-J Fleck’s first game as Gopher head coach in 2017. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 7 P-M at Huntington Bank Stadium. There are tickets still available at the team’s webpage.
