Gopher Gymnastics advances to National Finals
(Corvalis, OR/Minnesota News Network ) — The 13th-ranked University of Minnesota women’s gymnastics team earned a trip to the N-C-A-A National Championship meet with a second-place finish at the N-C-A-A Regional Finals in Corvalis, Oregon last night. The Golden Gophers scored better than number-five Alabama and 12th-ranked Utah to earn the berth. Fourth-ranked U-C-L-A took top team honors, earning a bid to the Nationals, as well. While the Gophers have been in the N-C-A-A Regional meet for 30 straight seasons, this is the first time since 2022 they have advanced to the N-C-A-A Nationals and the seventh time ever. The Nationals will take place in Fort Worth from April 16-18. The other six teams taking part include top-ranked Oklahoma, number-two L-S-U, third-rated Florida, number-six Stanford, seventh-rated Georgia, and ninth-ranked Arkansas.
