Gopher Mens Basketball sneaks out a win
(Minneapolis, MN) — Dawson Garcia recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Lu’Cye Patterson made four three-pointers and added a season-high 19 points, as Minnesota (5-1) defeated Central Michigan, 68-65, for its third-straight win at Williams Arena. Garcia, who has scored 22 or more points in five of six games this season, finished 6-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, and 7-of-11 at the free throw line. His season-high 11 rebounds earned him his 12th career point-rebound double-double (his eighth at Minnesota). Garcia has had multiple three-pointers in four of his six games this year and has started the season 11-of-20 (.550) from beyond the arc. Minnesota will spend Thanksgiving on the road for the E-S-P-N Events Invitational. They’ll face Wichita State at 11 A-M on Thursday morning nationally televised on E-S-P-N-2 followed by a Friday game against either Florida or Wake Forest.
