Gopher Mens BB falls flat vs Northwestern
(Minneapolis, MN) — Dawson Garcia finished with 26 points and nine rebounds, but Northwestern jumped out to an early lead and never trailed for the 75-63 win. Garcia made 9-of-20 field goals, including 3-of-7 from three-point range, and 5-of-5 free throws. It’s Garcia’s 17th game with 20-plus points this season. He has scored 1,493 points in his three seasons at Minnesota and 1,988 points during his collegiate career (including prior stops at Marquette and North Carolina). Frank Mitchell also finished in double-figures for Minnesota, coming off the bench for 10 points, four rebounds, and a pair of blocked shots. The Gophers are now 14-14 on the season and 6-11 in the Big Ten. With just three games left in the regular season they’ll head to Lincoln, Nebraska to face the Huskers for a 1 P-M tip on Saturday afternoon.
