Gopher WBB adds a player, Gopher Dance heads to Nationals

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The University of Minnesota women’s basketball team has added transfer forward Tracey Bershers of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Bershers most recently played at U-A-B, where she averaged 6.5-points per game. She had previously played at Oklahoma State. She will join her sister Zoey on the Gopher roster. Zoey Bershers is an incoming freshman for Minnesota.

(Undated/Minnesota News Network) — The University of Minnesota dance team will represent Team U-S-A at the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Championships. This is the Gophers’ third time doing so, the last being in 2014. Minnesota is known for its showstopping local and national performances in dance and cheer. The team leaves for Orlando, Florida, soon to compete Wednesday through Friday.
