Gopher Womens BB will go south for 2 Tournaments this year

(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota women’s basketball program will compete in the 2024 Briann January Classic and the Big Easy Classic this upcoming season. In Tempe, Ariz., the Briann January Classic will feature games against S-M-U and Oregon State from Nov. 16-17, while the Big Easy Classic will be played in New Orleans from November 29-30 against Houston and Louisiana. Minnesota will play Houston first on November 29 followed by Louisiana on November 30. The Briann January Classic will be played at Desert Financial Arena on the campus of Arizona State University, marking the first time since 2006 the Gophers will play in a non-conference tournament/classic in the state of Arizona. The Big Easy Classic will feature two different tournaments, with Minnesota playing in the Bayou Tournament at John A. Alario Center. Minnesota has never played a tournament/classic in the state of Louisiana.
