Gophers battle Wisconsin today for the Axe

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team visits Wisconsin on Friday for the regular season finale for both clubs. Minnesota has dropped its last two games to dip to 6-5 on the season, while the 5-6 Badgers have dropped four straight games. Wisconsin needs a victory to get to bowl eligibility. Without a win, the Badgers would miss a bowl game for the first time in 22 years. Paul Bunyan’s Axe is on the line with the Badgers currently in possession of the rivalry trophy thanks to last season’s 28-14 win in Minneapolis. The Golden Gophers won the previous game played in Madison in 2022 by a 23-16 margin. The teams have split the last six meetings. Friday’s game will kick off at 11 A-M.
