Gophers last second field goal misses, fall to NC

(Minneapolis, MN) — Dragan Kesich missing a 47 yard field goal attempt at time expired as the Gophers fall to North Carolina 19-17 on Thursday night at Huntington Bank Stadium.

The Tar Heels took a two point lead when Noah Brunette his fourth field goal of the game from 45 yards out with 1:44 left and it proved to be the winner. While Burnette was perfect on all four of his attempts Kesich missed two of his three attempts. Quarterback Max Brosmer was 13 of 21 for 166 in his Gopher debut while Marcus Major rushed 20 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Jackson caught four balls for 55 yards for Minnesota.

The Gophers host Rhode Island next Saturday at 11 A-M.
