Gov Announces Special Election in Senate District 6

(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) – Governor Tim Walz has issued a writ of special election to fill the current vacancy in Senate District 6 in Cass, Crow Wing, and Itasca Counties.

Former Republican Senator Justin Eichorn vacated this seat following his resignation last week.

Eichorn is facing federal charges following his arrest in a prostitution sting in Bloomington.

The special election will be held on Tuesday, April 29th, just under three weeks before the end of the session.

This will be the third special election of this legislative session.
