GOVERNOR’S PHEASANT OPENER

Hunters are out trying to bag a pheasant on the pheasant hunting opener today (Saturday).  The Governor’s pheasant opener events were in the Sleepy Eye area and dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan and U.S Senator Amy Klobuchar attended a land dedication and then moved downtown to take in festivities at the Sleepy Eye Brewing Company.  Flanagan was going to go hunting this (Saturday) morning but it isn’t known if she got a bird or not.   It has been announced that next year’s pheasant opener will be in Ortonville.
