Grand Forks Man Arrested in Fatal Cass County Crash

A Grand Forks man is in custody and facing multiple charges following a deadly high-speed crash south of Fargo.

Prosecutors allege 19-year-old Cornelio Vasquez the Fourth was driving 109 miles per hour while fleeing a traffic stop early Sunday. Troopers say he turned off his headlights, ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Ian Frye of Christine. Frye died at the scene.

Vasquez is charged with homicide while fleeing a peace officer, manslaughter and five other offenses. Two juvenile passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
