Green Isle Man Charged with Assault/Drug Possession

A Green Isle man has been charged with domestic assault and drug possession after his live-in spouse reported the alleged assault last week.

Forty-seven-year-old John Edward Clark III is is facing one count of Domestic Violence and three counts of 5th-Degree Drug Possession.

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office says after the victim reported the assault on Tuesday (Sept 24), Clark left the residence but returned about 2 hours later. Authorities were then alerted he had returned and they ultimately took him into custody without incident. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of 3.5 grams of methamphetamine and there was a large sum of money inside the residence.

A search warrant was obtained and authorities found more methamphetamine as well as cocaine and other controlled substances.

They also found a loaded pistol and 6 other guns.

Clark’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 7.
