Gregory Mark Goettl
Gregory Mark Goettl, age 65, of Le Center, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Mayo Clinic
Hospital – St. Marys Campus in Rochester.
Greg was born on January 24, 1961, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Roger and Sandra (Smith) Goettl. He attended
Le Center Public School and graduated with the Class of 1979. On August 9, 1980, Greg was united in marriage
to Teresa Hogan at St. Mary Catholic Church in Le Center. Together they made their home in Le Center before
moving to the farm, where they raised their four children. Teresa was the love of his life and they did everything
together.
Throughout his life, Greg hauled sugar beets in the fall, worked for Road Runner, Green Giant, farmed
alongside his dad, and later worked at the Le Sueur Foundry until his retirement in 2018. He was a hardworking
man who took pride in every job he held.
Greg enjoyed classic cars, farming, listening to Oldies music and Polkas on Sundays. A favorite past time was
taking rides in his side-by-side around the lake to visit neighbors and friends. He loved hosting family
barbecues, collecting toy tractors, and tending to his garden. Above all, Greg cherished time spent with his
children and grandchildren, he was beyond proud of all of them. Grandpa was his favorite title and he would
move mountains if the grandchildren needed him to.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Le Center and the Sons of the American Legion. Greg will be
remembered as a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand, listen, or offer advice.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his playful jokes and pranks. He had a great smile and
loved a good laugh.
