GUN BILLS SCHEDULED FOR DEBATE AT STATE CAPITOL
Two bills aimed at preventing gun violence in Minnesota will get another look today (Tuesday) at the State Capitol. The first would prohibit the manufacturing and possession of ghost guns. These are weapons that don’t include a serial number and make it tougher for law enforcement to trace the weapon if used in a crime. The second bill would re-enact the state’s ban on binary triggers and enhanced penalties for straw purchases of firearms. Both bills will be heard in the House Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee.
