GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS PROFESSOR SENTENCED FOR STEALING GUN PARTS

A Gustavus Adolphus College professor has been sentenced to three years of probation for stealing firearm components and ammunition.

Fifty-two-year-old Aaron Banks pleaded guilty in June to one count of theft.

Court documents say Banks stole from the Scheels store in Eden Prairie on multiple occasions. The items included two firearm triggers, a rifle accessory and several boxes of ammunition valued at more than 750 dollars.

A second charge of possessing burglary or theft tools was dismissed through the plea agreement.

Gustavus Adolphus College placed Banks on leave after he was charged in March. The school has not provided an updated employment status.
