HANSKA FOOD PANTRY RECEIVES DONATION FROM COMPEER FINANCIAL
The Zion Lutheran Food Pantry in Hanska has received a $2500 donation as part of Compeer Financial’s 2024 Giving Tuesday contest. The funds will support the pantry’s mission of addressing food insecurity in Hanska. The pantry was established when local leaders identified a need for accessible support, constructing a food pantry box to provide free essential items. The pantry is re-stocked regularly to meet residents’ needs. The organization struggled with the rising costs of restocking which had reached $300 in October. Local resident Kyle Miller won Compeer Financial’s Minnesota Giving Tuesday contest designated the pantry as his donation recipient. The pantry not only provides food through its food pantry box, but it also offers free community meals at Zion Lutheran Church and home delivery as well. Compeer Financial’s Giving Tuesday contest invited participants to nominate local organizations for a $2500 donation. Miller was one of three winners, the others were from Wisconsin and Illinois.
